Open Space Robotics

Teaching 500 refugees ...
in Robotics, 3D Printing and IoT
Join the mission!

A Berlin tech space to integrate refugees from Ukraine & Belarus

ABOUT

Initiative Mittel- und Osteuropa e.V (InMOE) gives refugees in Berlin new opportunities for integration into employment and local society.
Open Space Robotics has a two pillar-based approach:

● Help participants to learn modern high demanded technologies such as 3D-Printing, robotics and coding to improve employability
● Integrate local municipality, local tech companies, local NGOs and Berliner (non-refugee) citizens into the process to create friendships and networks

WHAT DO WE PLAN

Illustration

Within the next five years 500 refugees and non-refugees living in Berlin will receive trainings in 3D printing, robotics and coding.
Due to the political situation and InMOE's since ever focus on countries from Central- and Eastern Europe
We will focus our offer especially (but not exclusively) to refugees from Belarus and Ukraine.
Moreover we will motive women and LGBTQ citizens to particular in our programs, as they are still underrepresented in the area of tech.

PATH TO OUR MISSION

1

First workshops for refugees

Starting from August 2022

● Planning , preparing and performing first workshops in robotics with the Arduino framework and 3D-Printing. ● Managing language barriers & teach people with limited technical background ● Get funding. Find first partners and donors

2

Monthly workshops

Starting from April 2023

● One workshop per month in robotics / 3D-Printing● Inclusive workshops with refugees & local Berliner (non-refugee), local companies, representatives of municipality & local NGOs● Tech competitions

3

Open Space Robotics - Studio

Starting from August 2024

● Open a Berlin based tech atelier for refugees & locals ● Serving as a home for creative minds in the field of robotics● At least 300 refugees get trainings in robotics, 3D-Printing & Coding

How can you support & participate in Open Space Robotics?

To realize this ambitious project collaboration and support from various local partners, institutes, NGOs, sponsors and volunteers is needed.
For running the workshops we need material such as Arduino Kits and money to pay for the teachers and the workshop room. In the long run a permanent workspace is necessary for the Open Space Robotics.
