Game Play Ideas

IDEA 1: Shepherd and flock of sheep: material and hints for a game

The shepherd controls, exploits the sheep. The sheep should believe that they owe everything they have to the shepherd

Key impulses-triggers, thanks to which the shepherd controls the sheep:
fear, sex, anger, envy…
Feelings and emotions are a source of hasty judgments

§ Whenever a sheep is afraid, it tries to hide in the flock (conformism – a sense of security). A way to remove responsibility from oneself

§ The shepherd can’t talk to the flock like to the flock. He must make each sheep in the crowd feel special

§ Desires of sheep that should overshadow needs

Group pressure
The flock is led not by the reasoning of the smartest, but by the whims of the strongest and most frightened;

The target group of the herd is the opinion leaders. The shepherd’s propaganda works on them, and they pass on the idea to others.

In order to effectively manipulate the flock, the shepherd must play on fault lines and hot spots.
- divide and radicalize
- take on the role of an indispensable arbitrator-mediator

In the case of an external threat (wolves) he should on the contrary, consolidate the herd around the shepherd. Maintain a sense of unity through rituals, festive and mourning ceremonies.
Sheep that synchronously do the same thing (rituals, habits), feel the same thing (common holidays), have reason to be considered united flock.

IDEA 2 Information war Russia – Ukraine: material and hints for a game

The war between Ukraine and Russia in the information domain. The goal of Russia is to occupy Ukraine. The goal of Ukraine is to survive. activation and integration propagandaPlay on public sentimentIn wartime – active support, mobilization of strong emotionsIn peacetime – passive support, demobilization of strong emotions The one who controls the narrative, wins the war Teach the world to see war as a confrontation between you and the absolute evilBring discord into the enemy’s stateSow misunderstanding within the country Spread contradictions inside your enemyIn Ukraine – cultivate the idea that in the east of the country people are loyal to the Russian Federation; in the west people rent apartments to refugees from the east at high prices; Russian-speaking Ukrainians are potential agents of Russia; Ukrainian-speakers hate Russian-speakers and vice versa. In Russia – work on interethnic and interreligious contradictions; incite civilians against the military and vice versa; scare people with the consequences of the war; cultivate a sense of betrayal and disappointment among pro-war Russians; sow distrust in the country’s leadership.
Swap the aggressor and victim;Accuse the opposing side of terrorism and war crimes;Sow hopelessness among the enemy, faith in victory on your side;
Strategies abroadUkraine: build solid support abroad; avatars, gestures of solidarity.Russia: break this support, show that it does not exist; ridicule people who support, create the impression that supporting is not cool
Fighting the enemy's information space: interference in TV and radio signals, hacker attacks on official websites;

Appeals of the president of Ukraine to the citizens of Russia and vice versa

In order to defeat the victim, the aggressor should make the war for them:
- hopeless (our defeat is a matter of time, we have no time);
- not existential (it will be nothing terrible if the aggressor defeats us);
- not a war (in fact, this is not a war, but an attempt to solve our problems);

The aggressor also should:
- maintain a spiral of silence,
- the faster and more painless the triumph, the better;
- as long as you win, the people believe in the leader; constant victories are the only way to legitimize in such a system.

In order to defeat the aggressor, the victim should make the war for them:
- costly (I feel that I lose financially)
– unaesthetic (I don’t see any appeal in it)
– unfair (I don’t believe that the truth is on our side)
– lying (I no longer believe our side and its propaganda)
– losing (I don’t believe that victory can be achieved in the foreseeable future)
– unpopular (no one from my family supports

IDEA 3

Game of likes. The one who collects the most likes wins.
The ways to collect likes:Provoke strong emotions (anger, despair, joy, hatred);Spread lies, people want to believe in: harsh rumors, dirty laundry, especially about politicians they hate. The lies usually don’t live a long life, so you need to fabricate them constantly;Spread sexualized content;Support prejudices, confirm the biases.Visual content (pics and/or videos) prevailing over text.
You can also collect some likes:Sticking to the truth;Serving the public interest;Spreading information that matters, not necessarily the attention-grabbing one;Building a strong reputation.
These “clean” likes are much harder to collect, but they last a long time. “Dirty” likes (listed above) are much easier to collect, but their lifespan is short.
