Propagandistic Narratives

Narratives that manipulate minds. The goal isn’t to label everything propaganda. It’s to build awareness. Because once you see the moves, you can resist the manipulation.

Clarification of terms:

Narratives are stories designed to explain the world, to tell about reality in the format of a finite story that: ● can be remembered and retold to others; ● sounds logical and convincing● has no internal contradictions; ● gives a comfortable illusion of possessing the ultimate information about the issue.
Narratives can be● close to the truth;● far from the truth;● having nothing to do with the truth.

The flat shape of the earth is a narrative. The spherical shape of the earth is also a narrative.
Reality is almost always more complex, not as unambiguous and does not fit into a narrative, just as a person’s real life will never fit into the most detailed and accurate biopic. The human brain, a very energy-consuming organ, does not want to delve into nuances, halftones and contradictions. It does not want to:reconsider already shaped views (admitting they are wrong); take uncertain steps in absolute darkness (searching for the pure truth, especially if it’s unknown or uncomfortable).
The biggest problem with cognition is that people are usually not interested in the truth at all. They are interested in confirming the ideas they already hold. That is why it is difficult to convince people who are carriers of certain narratives (who have accepted a certain understanding) of something that contradicts their narrative.
